About
Katie specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, anxiety, depression, self-esteem and self-concept issues for clients over the age of 10. Prior to founding Kovacs Counseling in 2012, Katie received a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish Education from Cedarville University and a Master’s of Science in Education from the University of Dayton. Significantly impacted by going to therapy herself as the client, Katie finds satisfaction in practicing both the art and science of counseling in a warm and relational way. Today, Katie strives to build an environment of safety, trust and hope while allowing others to share their pain, challenges and fears. Finding passion in learning, Katie makes it her mission to absorb as much information as possible so she can turn it around to help as many clients as possible. Outside of running her own private practice, Katie enjoys walking her energetic black Labrador Retriever, reading, listening to podcasts, spending time at the horse barn, watching her kids play basketball and enjoying her back patio with her spouse.

Outside of counseling, Monika loves to garden, cook, read, spend time with family, and complete home projects.

Her addition of art therapy to the practice along with the other therapists’ innovative clinical styles create an opportunity to serve many clients with a wide array of mental health needs. When Jen is not serving her clients, she enjoys reading, playing tennis, traveling, making art, and spending time with family and friends.
